Rabbit Punch (2021, developed at PICA)is an experimental sonic and physical performance that connects the depiction of boxing to the collective experience of learning to box. A company of creatives engaged in a rigorous and generative process of physically devising the work from personal and community experiences, collated research and archival material. Rabbit Punch explores the dynamics and foundations of power, empowerment, identity, vulnerability, social systems, the presence of fear, and representations of strength.
Rabbit Punch interrogates the question: when and why do we learn how to fight?
